- 1. How do I make an appointment?

Our operating hours are: Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm, Saturday 8.30am – 1.00pm. We are closed on Sundays and on Singapore public holidays, except for emergencies.
- 2. What should I bring for my first appointment?
Please bring along your Identification Card or Passport. Please also bring along your referral letters (if you have) and all your medical records, including blood test results, X-rays, scans, or CDs/DVDs.
- 3. Where are we located?
Quah Hak Mien Colorectal Centre is located on the 7th level, unit 07-05, Gleneagles Medical Centre, 6 Napier Road (near the Singapore Botanic Gardens).
- 4. How long will I be hospitalised if I need to undergo an endoscopy?
All endoscopy procedures such as gastroscopy and colonoscopy are day procedures. You can be discharged home after the endoscopy with the results on the same day.
- 5. How long will I be hospitalised if I need to undergo an operation?
The duration of stay in hospital depends on the operation you are going through. In general, piles surgery and most minor anorectal procedures are performed as day surgery; you may also have an overnight stay for observation. The length of hospital stay for major abdominal surgery is between 5 to 6 days. For laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, the hospital stay may be shorter.
- 6. Which hospital will I be admitted to?
If hospitalisation is required, you will be hospitalised at the Gleneagles Hospital. You may also choose to be admitted to Mount Elizabeth Hospital or Mount Alvernia Hospital or Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital.
- 7. Can I use Medisave or Insurance to pay for my endoscopy procedures, hospitalisation or operation?
Yes. Our hospitals and facilities are Medisave approved. The amount of Medisave claimable depends on the type of procedure performed. Ministry of Health, Singapore has now approved the use of Medisave for colonoscopy for screening for colorectal cancer. Most endoscopy procedures, day surgery, hospitalisation and operations can be covered by Medical Insurance. You may have a co-payment component depending on the policy you have. You can obtain further information regarding Medisave or Insurance from our staff.
- 8. Is there an ambulance service to transfer me from Changi Airport to our centre?
Yes, you may use an ambulance service. Please contact the Airport Information Desk for bookings. You may also contact our staff for assistance.
- 9. If I am a foreigner, how can my accompanying family members find temporary accommodation?
Please contact our staff to help you arrange for your accommodation at a hotel or an apartment nearby.
